Yesterday, the Rio Grande Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America suspended pastor Zachary Garris.
I wonder if many consider how turning a blind eye to the misogyny of Spangler (ex-OPC) and Garris (PCA), published well before their opinions on race surfaced, has played into the current moment.
Honestly, I think the majority of elders within what would be considered the more conservative half of the PCA remain sympathetic to them on that.
Perhaps they are more than sympathetic, even grateful for the boldness of Garris in saying what many think but are reticent to say.
This is so messed up. The amount of people running to defend Garris, even claiming he's being "persecuted" is disgusting.
as a side note, I don't believe AB is licensed to preach in the PCA? I could be wrong.
I’ve seen him referred to in an interview as a “licensed pastor,” and he was theologian in residence at Redeemer, but I could be wrong too.
